The anime seems to be a direct translation of the novel with the only thing's not really being shown are the gory parts involving caster, his master and little children... I have not read the books but I am really enjoying Fate/zero (that way I am also enjoying everything as completely new material). The censored parts will most likely be uncensored for the Bluray/DVDs later on but they do not bother me at all because they still get point across. Excellent animation coupled with excellent music. Voice acting is top notch too. It's hard not to love it.

Oh yeah for fate/zero you can watch the latest ep with subs on nicovideo and the rest on crunchyroll. Also there is no difference between the two subs besides nico uploading them first is on a schedule and having lots more subbed laungages while utw has higher quality video can dl episodes without the use of a program like craving explorer but slower upload times and only available in english subs.
